Celebrate Your Success!
You and your fellow Scouters have worked hard over the last year to deliver a great program to your Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers. We think you deserve a thank you, so we’re hosting the Sons of Liberty District Recognition Event & Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 9th (location TBD).
What’s next? Two things:
1) Save the date. Online registration will be available soon to purchase tickets at a modest price to offset food costs.
2) Nominate a fellow Scouter for the recognition they deserve!
There are many categories of recognition, but we won’t know who deserves what award if you don’t tell us. Review the awards below and submit nominations by MARCH 6, 2026 by email to the district awards committee at SOLDistrictAwards@gmail.com.
District Award of Merit (DAM)

Eagle Project Approval Process:
1st, download the most current Eagle Service Project Workbook from Scouting.org.
2nd, review the entire workbook carefully, particularly the informational pages at the beginning of the workbook and the section at the end, “Navigating the Eagle Scout Service Project,” which must be given to the representative of the beneficiary organization when you begin discussions with them about your project.
3rd, after thoughtful conversations with your unit leader or project coach and a representative of the beneficiary organization, complete the Project Proposal section and collect approval signatures (in ink) from your unit leader, your unit committee, and the beneficiary representative.
4th, submit the Project Proposal and the signature pages, along with the fundraising application, if necessary, and email it as one PDF to SOL Advancement Chair, Scott Barvick.

The District Advancement Committee will work with Scouts to ensure that their Eagle Service Project meets the standards set by the BSA in the workbook and the Guide to Advancement. Unit leaders and project coaches should touch base with the Advancement Chair to clarify questions in advance.
Please note that timing is an issue when it comes to a Scout’s 18th birthday. The Advancement Committee wants every Scout to have a chance to complete their project and attain the rank of Eagle Scout. It can take up to a month or more for project approval.
Please plan well ahead to avoid timing challenges.
